Tras verlo en Weblog Tools Collection, me he dado una vuelta por Sxore (XO), un nuevo servicio que se encarga de moderar los comentarios de una bitácora en lugar del autor. Bueno, no exactamente. El autor no pierde nunca el control, ya que él determina las condiciones con las que trabajará Sxore, así que digamos más bien que se trata de un servicio intermediario que controla buena parte de los parámetros de moderación de la conversación en una bitácora.
Debo decir que, tras consultar detalladamente las características, pasé del entusiasmo a la serenidad en un tris tras. Está claro que los autores de bitácoras precisamos de herramientas que nos ayuden a mantener y potenciar la conversación a la vez que controlar y minimizar sus factores negativos, como los ataques de trolls o spam. Pero hacer pasar al lector por la incomodidad de verse redirigido a una plataforma externa para colgar su comentario, sin que esa plataforma proporcione más de lo que puedes implentar tú mismo en tu propio blog, no me parece un buen servicio ni una buena opción.
Veamos, XO ofrece la posibilidad de autenticar a los comentaristas, de eludir el spam (vía captcha), de votar el post, seguir el hilo de la conversación, añadir tags al post, recibir correos del autor, postear anónimamente, suscribirte a otro autor afiliado al servicio… y todo esto a través de la creación de una especie de comunidad interna del propio blog. Nada nuevo bajo el sol, ya que todo eso y más se puede implementar en la actualidad en cualquier bitácora a través de plugins o herramientas gratuitas.
Sin embargo, adolece de aspectos negativos como imposibilidad de incluir HTML en los comentarios, imposibilidad de borrar o editar el comentario, hacer pasar al usuario por el engorroso captcha (en lugar de sistemas silenciosos como el Akismet que uso en Mangas Verdes), imposibilidad de filtrar los comentarios trolls…
No cierro las puertas definitivamente, pero no voy siquiera a probarlo en este blog. Esperaré a ver si alguien lo implementa y me avisa para testearlo. Por cierto, ha estado funcionando con invitaciones y a través de un plugin creado especialmente para WordPress, pero no sé si ya es público. Ya me cuentan, si alguien lo usa.

we provide an aggregate follow feed of all the comment threads from multiple blogs that you wish to track
your comments and posts are inputs to your reputation, which you will be able take with you to other sites. These other sites can set “reputation thresholds” to allow new members posts to be posted automatically if they have a high reputation.
we provide the blog author with whitelists and blacklists to help with auto-moderating incoming comments.
sxore provides Identity for comments through an internet-scale user-centric identity protocol, SXIP ,that you can use on other sites that support sxip.
we support Gravatar, and Flickr icons as well as others.

Portable reputation is interesting, but isn’t a priority for me. I don’t need a plugin to manage accounts on my site, because… not accounts in my site

Andaba yo buscando algo que me ayudase a controlar los comentarios que recibo, filtrando el Spam y los de los usuarios de mi lista negra, pero sin perjudicar a los asiduos. Y he dado con esto. En principio me parecía genial, pero tras probarlo con mi otro blog de pruebas (Blogger), no he conseguido que funcione.
Realmente, no quería llegar a moderar los comentarios, pero cuando un pesao da contigo y se agarra como garrapata y te molesta con comentarios sordidos y desagradables y luego a tus amigos, pues alguna mediad hay que tomar, ¿no?
